Keep the approved email creative in Migma while your team moves its sending workflow from Mailchimp to Brevo. That gives reviewers a stable version to compare with the new destination, even while contact mapping and campaign settings are changing.
Brevo's Mailchimp integration documentation describes importing and updating contacts. A completed contact sync should not be treated as proof that your email templates, personalization, journeys, and sending settings are ready. Those require their own acceptance checks.
This guide is published by Migma and focuses on the creative part of a Mailchimp-to-Brevo migration. It is not a platform ranking, a price comparison, or a claim that Migma automatically migrates account data. Official handoff and integration information was checked on October 14, 2026.
Before the move: create a small creative register
Choose the emails you actually intend to use after the move. Do not rebuild every historical campaign simply because it exists. Mark each candidate as keep, revise, retire, or investigate through your team's planning process.
For each kept email, record its job, approved content, subject and preview text, destinations, images, personalization fields, and owner. Keep a visual sample and an editable source where you have them.
Add a note for facts that expire: discounts, product availability, campaign dates, and policy wording. A template that was correct when sent last year may be unsuitable for the next campaign.
Migma's reviewed brand settings can preserve approved logos, colors, voice, product facts, and references for the creative work. Review that context before generating a replacement or adapting an old design.
During contact setup: map the fields the email needs
Brevo's official Mailchimp integration guide describes selecting lists, mapping contact attributes, choosing a Brevo list, and setting synchronization frequency. Read the current requirements and limitations for your account before importing.
The creative team should provide its field needs to the migration owner. If an email uses a first name or a preference, confirm the source field, destination field, missing-value behavior, and a representative example.
A field can exist on both sides without the template using it correctly. Contact mapping and personalization syntax are separate reviews. Do not paste a familiar Mailchimp merge tag into Brevo and assume it will render.
Keep recipient status and import eligibility with the audience owner. A visual email review does not establish that a contact may receive the campaign, and a contact appearing in a list does not by itself resolve every sending rule.
Rebuild or adapt the creative in Migma
Use the register to brief the selected email. Tell Migma which copy, offer terms, links, and variables must remain fixed, then review the draft against the old accepted version.
Focus on the changes needed for the new workflow. A migration is already a significant operational change; an unnecessary simultaneous rebrand can make failures harder to diagnose. If you intentionally change the design, record that decision so reviewers know which differences are expected.
Use the comparison to check content, not just visual similarity. A renamed product, lost support link, or simplified offer condition can matter more than a small spacing change.
Run Email Preflight. Inspect writing, links, layout, and common sending risks, and review the inbox differences that matter to your audience. Passing Preflight does not validate the contact import or guarantee inbox placement.
Hand the accepted version to Brevo
Migma's export documentation describes exporting a reusable Brevo template and finishing review and sending in Brevo. Export does not send an email.
Name the destination template so the campaign owner can match it to the creative register. Open it in Brevo and confirm that it contains the intended version. If the platform adds a wrapper or changes a variable, review the actual result.
Use a compact handoff table:
| Item | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|
| Creative | Approved version and owner |
| Personalization | Destination fields and tested fallback |
| Links | Reviewed destinations in the final template |
| Sender and reply route | Intended campaign settings |
| Audience | Migration owner's accepted recipient scope |
| Timing | Explicit cutover decision |
These are working review fields, not claims about automatic transfer between products.
Before the first send: test the destination version
Send controlled tests using your normal Brevo process. Use representative data, including missing optional fields and long values. Inspect the message in the inbox rather than relying only on the template preview.
Check the subject, preview text, sender, reply address, images, actions, footer, and personalization. Confirm which system owns any unsubscribe or preference links before changing them.
Also review whether Mailchimp still has a campaign or automation that could send the same message. Moving the creative does not stop an older schedule. The campaign and automation owners must agree on the cutover so one customer moment does not have two accidental senders.
Keep the old accepted version available through your normal recovery process. Do not delete a working template before the responsible owners accept its replacement.
After the move: record what was accepted
Record the first destination result with the creative register and field map. If the campaign performs differently, investigate audience, timing, offer, sending setup, and destination changes before attributing the difference to the design.
Update the register when a later edit changes an offer or variable. Otherwise the document stops being a useful reference and becomes another stale migration artifact.
Migma can keep the creative review stable while Mailchimp and Brevo account work changes around it. A successful move gives the team an approved message, a tested destination template, and clear ownership of the audience and cutover—not merely a completed import.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does completing a contact sync prove my templates are ready?
No. Brevo's integration guide describes contact import and updates. Check template content, personalization, campaign settings and journey ownership separately.
Can I reuse Mailchimp personalization syntax in Brevo?
Do not assume that it is interchangeable. Map the fields and verify the destination template's supported syntax with complete and missing-value test data.
Does a Migma Brevo export send a campaign?
No. Migma documents a reusable template handoff. Finish content, audience, sender, timing and test review in Brevo before sending.
How can the old platform create duplicate messages during migration?
An old campaign or automation may still be scheduled or active. The owners must review both systems and agree on which one owns each message at cutover.
